Prince Edward Island Golf Association – Call for Nominations

In preparation for the 2014
Annual General Meeting and the upcoming season the PEIGA is seeking nominations
to fill vacancies on its Board of Directors. We ask all courses to review the
following Board positions and submit the names of individuals who you feel have
the skills and attributes necessary for the role and would be interested in
contributing to the growth of golf in the province.


The PEIGA Board is a working
Board and members are expected to work closely with the Executive Director in
order to complete specific tasks and duties while reporting progress regularly
to the rest of the Board.
In order to serve on the Board an individual has to be a member in good
standing of Golf Canada and the PEIGA.

The names that you submit will be forwarded to our Nominating Committee and a
representative from the PEIGA will contact them to discuss the position best
suited to their interests.

We strongly encourage all member courses to nominate individuals for these
positions so that the Board will be comprised of representatives from as many
courses and areas of the province as possible.

Nominations must be submitted to the
P.E.I.G.A. by 5:00pm Saturday, April 5th.

Vacant Positions:

Director Course & Member Relations – this Director is responsible
for maintaining and enhancing open communication with both member courses and
individuals ensuring that issues or concerns are brought to the Board's
attention for appropriate action.

Director Golf Services – this Director oversees Course Rating, Handicap
Services and Rules Officials including the recruitment and training of
volunteers. This position also ensures that the P.E.I.G.A./Golf Canada data
base is maintained and up to date.

Director Women's Golf Development – this is a new position that has been
created with a view to assist member courses in finding ways to attract more
women to the game as well as new events designed to introduce those now playing
the game to competition in a fun and casual way.

Chairperson Junior Fund – through a generous contribution made by Errol
and Edith Nicholson the PEIGA has established a new Junior Golf Fund to
financially assist juniors in their participation in the game.
The Chairperson of this Fund will be charged with reviewing all applications
for funding and submitting recommendations on each to the Board for
consideration. The Chairperson will develop and lead a plan to solicit ongoing contributions
to maintain and grow the Fund.
