The 2013 Tournament Schedule is now posted on the P.E.I.G.A. website . Throughout the season events are added so check it out on a regular basis. Schedules for the King of Clubs Tour , the Senior Ladies Tour and the Junior Order of Merit will be posted within the next few days .

The Back Nine:

Just before Christmas the P.E.I.G.A. appointed Dallas Desjardins as its new Provincial Golf Coach. Dallas and his assistant John Schurman are busy training the 2013 Canada Games Golf Team and putting the final touches on the 2013 Junior Development Program . Dallas and John are excited about the talent level of this years team so lets give them all of our support. We have some great up and coming golfers in this province. If you have any question about the new junior program or if you want to cure your slice please give Dallas or John a call at the Summerside Golf Club.

April is not only Master’s month but here on P.E.I. its also HST month . One of our golf course managers told me that a member rushed into her office last week to pay his 2013 membership dues -in order to beat the April 1st HST . She explained to him that since the tax rate will fall from 15.5 to 14 percent that his dues were actually cheaper after April 1st but that he was certainly free to pay the higher rate if he wished . He left and said that he would be back after April 1 . Same old story a woman explaining how things work to a man .

Through the generosity of Errol and Edith Nicholson a P.E.I. Junior Golf Endowment Fund has been established to help junior golfers access the game . If you would like to contribute to the Fund and receive a tax credit please contact the Association . Many thanks to Errol and Edith for this legacy .

The AGM of the Association is scheduled for Saturday , April 13th at the Belvedere Golf Club . The meeting gets underway at 10 am and all are welcome . Minutes , the financial report and the 2013 budget can be found on www.peiga.ca

That’s it for now. The Association will be sending along notes and information from time to time throughout the season . If you have any questions please check the website or call the office at 393-3293 .

Lets all make a commitment to play more golf this year ! Support our great P.E.I. courses and do yourself a favour . Now if I can just find a putter that works .
